Video Content is gold dust for social media. You can only tell so much in a graphic post or still imagery but video opens up the ability for your audience to connect with you and therefor whatever product or service you are trying to sell.
You may underestimate just how powerful video content can truly be, possibly shooting yourself in the foot and missing out on so incredible opportunities.
This is why it's so important to learn how to create GREAT video content.
Here's 3 tips on how you can make videos that capture attention, create intrigue and get sales.
1) Create Content That Tells a Story
Whether it's a TV show, book or a film we're all naturally engaged in something that tells a great story. The same applies to video content on social media.
The ones with the best stories are the one that wins our attention.
Take the video below as an example. I could have simply shown the end result (which is the photoshopped santa photo) but I choose to build a story around it. This resulted in the video garnering hundreds of thousands of views.
So when you're making content, don't just fire up a photo or graphic - find some bts footage or script out your video to tell a story!
It doesn't need to be super in depth but the more you intrigue the audience with a great opening hook the more you likely they are to finish the video - resulting in a successful video campaign.
2) Make Your Video Content Engaging
You probably hear this all the time: "Make engaging content" and probably ask yourself... what does that even mean?
Our attention spans have been destroyed thanks to the rise of short form video content on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube shorts. People get board easily (especially if there's not a strong story).
We need to constantly keep our audience engaged to make sure they don't scroll away and watch your video to completion.
After hooking the viewer, try to constantly re-enagage them through the following;
3) You Should Get CREATIVE! With Your Content
Too often I see creators/brands sacrifice their unique voice and point of view to go with whatever is trending.
What we need to keep in mind is that if you fall into that sea of generic creators then there will be no incentive for people to follow you over others. PLEASE use your creative point of view to put a spin on a trend that people haven't thought of.
Just because something works for others doesn't mean you should directly in those footsteps.
